Marc Brandis, Managing Director
Marc founded the firm in 2003 with the mission to offer truly independent advice on strategic IT topics. He has assembled an excellent team of professionals who share his solid understanding of IT and passion to help clients advance.
Over the past years, Marc has launched the firm’s technology startup practice, and assisted a number of startup companies in shaping their products, their business strategy, and their business plan.
Most recently, Marc has founded mimicry – AI-powered software understanding, a technology startup using artificial intelligence to help enterprises deal with aging software systems and unlock business value from past IT investments while leveraging new technologies.
Marc has worked mainly for banks and IT service companies on topics such as strategy development, organization, IT architecture, vendor selection, offshoring, and business building.
He has also supported technology startup companies in fields such as aligning products and services with market needs, accelerating product delivery, defining business strategy, acquiring customers and partners, or taking investment and divestment decisions.
Education and Professional Background
Marc obtained a diploma and doctoral degree in computer science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. He has worked as a researcher at IBM and Hewlett-Packard in the United States, and gathered profound insights into IT management and strategy consulting with McKinsey & Company in Switzerland and Italy.
In his spare time, Marc enjoys skiing, catamaran sailing and windsurfing. He is interested in design and architecture, music, literature, and travelling.
